Zignago Vetro has issued the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration): a recognition that makes our glass packaging even more “transparent”.
The EPD in detail
The EPD is a document that provides verified data regarding the environmental impact of a product throughout the entire period of its life. Based on international standards such as the ISO 14025 regulations, this declaration includes detailed information about key parameters like energy consumption, CO2 emissions, the use of natural resources, and water, soil and air pollution.
Its drafting process involves an evaluation of the product’s life cycle (LCA), carried out by independent bodies to guarantee its credibility.
Apart from promoting sustainability, the EPD offers consumers and stakeholders a useful instrument for making more informed decisions, thus favoring greater transparency in the marketplace.
